Saved from Suicide

I took about 50 non-aspirin tablets and then told everyone (or the family) the good news....I was dying. My family completely flipped out. I found out that they really did care a lot for me. I overheard the doctor telling my folks at the hospital, that I really should be dead by now. He could not understand why I was still alive. But I knew! I had started praying with all my heart for the Lord to let me live, for I had many reasons now. My number one reason to live was for my family's sake, because they did indeed love me very much. I did not receive counseling for this. I received a much better solution. The Bible and Christian friends helped me through this. I know now what I should have done...I should have turned to Christ before the agonizing pain of almost taking my life (1 John 4:4) - Becca J

In 1982, after running away from the Lord for 7 years and hiding behind drugs, alcohol and deception, I felt as though no one cared and daily desired to end my life. But the Lord kept telling me how much He loved me. After many arguments with Him that I wasn't the type of person He would want, I finally surrendered my life and repented. Overnight, He changed my life (2 Cor 5:17).

My husband and I are now children's pastors (Eph 2:10). Jesus' love and compassion is from everlasting, to everlasting even when you don't deserve it! He is the God that "sees" when you are hurting, are rejected, and in pain. He said He would never leave us nor forsake us even in the most desperate of times (Heb 13:5). I know, I've been there... - Dawn.
